Continuum vaccines provide the following options for 3-year vaccination against core diseases:
- Continuum DAP
- Description: Modified live virus vaccine containing attenuated strains of canine distemper virus (CDV), adenovirus-2 (CAV-2), and parvovirus (CPV)
- Indications: For the vaccination of healthy dogs as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by CDV, CAV-1, and CPV for up to 3 years following initial and booster vaccinations
- Continuum DAP-R
- Description: Modified live virus vaccine containing attenuated strains of CDV, CAV-2, CPV, and inactivated rabies virus
- Indications: For the vaccination of healthy dogs as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by CDV, CAV-1, CDV, and rabies virus for up to 3 years following initial and booster vaccinations
- Continuum DA
- Description: Modified live virus vaccine containing attenuated strains of CDV and CAV-2
- Indications: For the vaccination of healthy dogs as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by CDV and CAV-1 for up to 3 years following initial and booster vaccinations
- Continuum P
- Description: Modified live virus vaccine containing an attenuated strain of CPV
- Indications: For the vaccination of healthy dogs as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by CDV and CAV-1 for up to 3 years following initial and booster vaccinations
Efficacy and Safety
- CDV (Continuum DAP, DAP-R, DA)
- Provided 100% protection against clinical signs or infection in vaccinates at 36 months postvaccination, as demonstrated in 3-year challenge studies
- Serologic tests demonstrated high antibody titers throughout the 3-year postvaccination isolation period
- High-titer CDV strain proven safe for dogs as young as 4 weeks of age
- Intervet’s Onderstepoort strain of CDV recognized for safety and high immunogenicity
- >99.9% reaction free
- CAV-1 (Continuum DAP, DAP-R, DA)
- Provided 100% protection against clinical signs or infection in vaccinates at 36 months postvaccination, as demonstrated in 3-year challenge studies
- Serologic tests demonstrated high antibody titers throughout the 3-year postvaccination isolation period
- Manhattan strain of CAV-2 used to confer protection against canine infectious hepatitis caused by CAV-1 without eliciting the adverse reactions associated with CAV-1 vaccines
- >99.9% reaction free
- CPV (Continuum DAP, DAP-R, P)
- Provided 100% protection against clinical signs or infection in vaccinates at 36 months postvaccination, as demonstrated in 3-year challenge studies
- Serologic tests demonstrated high antibody titers throughout the 3-year postvaccination isolation period
- Patented CPV STRAIN 154® proven to override maternal antibodies as early as 6 weeks
- High-titer CPV strain proven safe for dogs as young as 4 weeks of age
- Rabies virus (Continuum DAP-R)
- Killed rabies virus component demonstrated protection against virulent rabies virus at 36 months postvaccination, as demonstrated in 3-year challenge studies4
- Contains Pasteur strain of rabies virus
- No immunologic interference between the killed rabies virus and the modified live vaccine components
- >95% reaction free
Directions for Use
- Continuum DAP, DA, P
- Administer 1 mL by the subcutaneous route
- Initial vaccination of healthy dogs may be given as early as 6 weeks of age, with booster injections administered every 3-4 weeks until 12 weeks of age
- Dogs over 12 weeks of age should initially receive two doses 3-4 weeks apart
- Revaccinate every 3 years with a single dose
- Continuum DAP-R
- Administer 1 mL by the subcutaneous route
- Initial vaccination of healthy dogs may be given as early as 12 weeks of age, with a booster injection using Continuum DAP-R or Continuum Rabies administered 1 year later
- Revaccinate every 3 years with a single dose of Continuum DAP-R or Continuum Rabies
