Description
- Continuum Lyme is a purified extract of Borrelia burgdorferi comprised of outer surface protein A (OspA) and is adjuvanted to elicit a maximal immune response
- Subunit OspA antigen induces protection against disease caused by B. burgdorferi infection
Indications
- Continuum Lyme is a recombinant OspA vaccine for vaccination of healthy puppies and dogs to prevent disease caused by B. burgdorferi infection
- Vaccination with Continuum Lyme is highly effective in reducing the transmission of infective B. burgdorferi from the tick to the dog
Efficacy and Safety
- Prevented clinical signs in 100% of vaccinates in 1-year challenge1
- Recombinant OspA formulation kills B. burgdorferi in the tick before it can infect the dog
- Less potential risk of immune-mediated reactions than with whole-cell bacterins2-4
- May be safely administered to healthy dogs or puppies as young as 4 weeks of age
- Safety studies using multiple vaccinations did not induce any adverse events regardless of Borrelia serological status
Directions for Use
- Aseptically administer 1 mL by the subcutaneous route
- Vaccinate healthy dogs 4 weeks of age or older with two doses 3-4 weeks apart
- Annual revaccination with a single dose is recommended
