Description
Continuum RESP is a modified live intranasal vaccine containing attenuated canine adenovirus-2 (CAV-2), parainfluenza virus, and Bordetella bronchiseptica avirulent live culture
Indications
- Continuum RESP is for vaccination of healthy susceptible puppies and dogs 3 weeks of age or older for prevention of canine infectious tracheobronchitis (ITB), also known as kennel cough, due to CAV-2, parainfluenza virus, and B. bronchiseptica
Efficacy and Safety
- Protection against virulent CAV-2, parainfluenza virus, and B. bronchiseptica in 3-week-old puppies, as demonstrated in challenge studies
- Studies established 72-hour onset of immunity in the aid in the prevention of B. bronchiseptica in 8-week-old puppies
- Intranasal vaccination with Continuum RESP stimulates rapid, local immunity in the respiratory tract, thereby inhibiting infection at the port of entry as well as preventing clinical signs
- In addition to local immunity, Continuum RESP also stimulates systemic immunity within 3 weeks of intranasal administration
- Small volume (0.4 mL) and one-nostril application provide for ease in vaccination, particularly in small breeds and young puppies
- Safe in puppies as young as 2 weeks of age, as demonstrated in extensive internal and field safety studies
- Safe for pregnant bitches
- 99.9% reaction free
Directions for Use
- Aseptically administer 0.4 mL into one nostril (because of the small dose volume, an applicator tip is not required for administration)
- Healthy puppies 3 weeks of age or older and dogs should be vaccinated at least 72 hours prior to confinement or when risk of ITB may exist
- Revaccinate annually
