Continuum vaccines provide the following options for 3-year vaccination against core diseases:
- Continuum Feline HCP
- Description: Modified live virus vaccine containing attenuated strains of feline rhinotracheitis virus (FRV), calicivirus (FCV), and panleukopenia virus (FPV)
- Indications: For the vaccination of healthy cats for the prevention of disease due to FPV, as an aid in the prevention of disease due to FCV, and as an aid in the control of disease due to FRV for 3 years following initial and booster vaccinations
- Continuum Feline HCP-R
- Description: Modified live virus vaccine containing attenuated strains of FRV, FCV, FPV, and inactivated rabies virus
- Indications: For the vaccination of healthy cats for the prevention of disease caused by FPV, as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by FCV, and as an aid in the control of disease caused by FRV for 3 years following initial and booster vaccinations; for the vaccination of healthy cats as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by rabies for 4 years following initial and booster vaccinations
- Continuum Feline HC
- Description: Modified live virus vaccine containing attenuated strains of FRV and FCV
- Indications: For the vaccination of healthy cats as an aid in the prevention of disease due to FCV and as an aid in the control of disease due to FRV for 3 years following initial and booster vaccinations
- Continuum Feline P
- Description: Modified live virus vaccine containing an attenuated strain of FPV
- Indications: For the vaccination of healthy cats for the prevention of disease due to FPV for 3 years following initial and booster vaccinations
Efficacy and Safety
- FPV (Continuum Feline HCP, HCP-R, P)
- Provided 100% protection against disease associated with virulent FPV challenge at 36 months postvaccination, as demonstrated in 3-year challenge studies
- Proven safe for kittens as young as 8 weeks of age
- FCV (Continuum Feline HCP, HCP-R, HC)
- Provided 100% protection against oral ulcerations associated with FCV infection at 36 months postvaccination, as demonstrated in 3-year challenge studies
- Proven safe for kittens as young as 8 weeks of age
- FRV (Continuum Feline HCP, HCP-R, HC)
- Provided statistically significant reduction in virulent FRV-associated clinical signs (P=0.005) at 36 months postvaccination, as demonstrated in 3-year challenge studies
- Proven safe for kittens as young as 8 weeks of age
- Rabies virus (Continuum Feline HCP-R)
- Killed rabies virus component demonstrated protection against virulent rabies virus at 48 months postvaccination, as demonstrated in 4-year challenge studies
- Prevented clinical signs of rabies in 96% of vaccinated cats
- Contains Pasteur strain of rabies virus
- No immunologic interference between the killed rabies virus and the modified live vaccine components
- Proven safe for kittens as young as 12 weeks of age
Directions for Use
- Continuum Feline HCP, HC, P
- Administer 1 mL by the subcutaneous route
- Initial vaccination of healthy cats may be given as early as 8 weeks of age, with booster injections administered every 3-4 weeks until 12 weeks of age
- Cats over 12 weeks of age should initially receive two doses 3-4 weeks apart
- Revaccinate every 3 years with a single dose
- Continuum Feline HCP-R
- Administer 1 mL by the subcutaneous route
- Initial vaccination of healthy cats may be given as early as 12 weeks of age, with a booster injection using Continuum Feline HCP-R or Continuum Rabies administered 1 year later
- Revaccinate every 3 years with a single dose of Continuum Feline HCP-R or Continuum Rabies
