Implementing Protocols With Continuum 3-Year and Annual Vaccines
Continuum vaccines support the growing trend to provide care based on patients’ individual risk factors. One approach to customized vaccinations involves adopting a protocol based on your patient’s exposure to both environmental risk factors and exposure to other cats.
The tables below show how easy it can be to create customized protocols using a combination of 3-year and annual vaccines. Simply determine if your patient’s lifestyle and risk factors are most like Max, Captain, Callie, Lucas, Sophie, or Victor. Then follow the corresponding vaccination protocol.
Sample Protocols1*

HCP = Rhinotracheitis caused by herpesvirus-1, calicivirus, panleukopenia
FeLV = Feline leukemia virus
Bb = Bordetella bronchiseptica
Cp = Chlamydia psittaci
Gia = Giardia lamblia
FIP = Feline infectious peritonitis
FIV = Feline immunodeficiency virus
* Sample protocols based on information from Greene.1 Greene’s recommendation for annual HCP revaccination has been changed to triennial revaccination in these protocols due to USDA approval of Continuum Feline HCP.
